History[]
Not much is known about Crona's past, save for the fact that they knew nothing but isolation and neglect while serving as the guinea pig for their mother's unethical experiments. On one fateful day, they were subjected to an experiment involving a blood transfusion of a madness-inducing liquid called Black Blood. As a result, they entered a forced symbiosis with a weapon that was melted into the Black Blood; the Demon Sword Ragnarok. Crona was raised for the purpose of destroying the world by consuming enough souls to become an artificial Kishin, and suffered intense abuse as they went through Ragnarok's bullying and Medusa's merciless methods of punishment.
Crona would live as an assassin and the anointed “chosen one”, but their life would change for the better once they met Maka Albarn. After befriending her, Crona began to become surer of themself, beginning to distinguish the difference between good and evil while trying to redeem themselves of their tragic past. Crona would prove to be a noteworthy ally, even playing a big part in defeating Asura; the Kishin whom Crona was meant to model.
Personality[]
Crona is an introverted person... to say the least. Having been abused and experimented on since birth, Crona exhibits a pessimistic and negative outlook on life and is also nervous and submissive. They do not hold a very high opinion of themselves and are very shy, often citing that they're unable to "deal" with many things; whether it pertains to a situation, an action, or a specific individual. This causes them to complete shut themselves down from their surroundings. After meeting Maka and their enrollment into the DWMA, Crona started to become more relaxed and happy, and became capable of feeling the need to protect Maka, who was previously their enemy.
On the other hand, Ragnarok's personality can be considered Crona's polar opposite. He is loud, boisterous and extremely rude and cocky, often bullying Crona (physically and mentally), and has been known to give them noogies and purposefully deprive them of sleep. He has a habit of also bullying others around him, usually through name-calling or even physical violence. He also has a deceitful nature; which was demonstrated when he took advantage of Marie Mjolnir's kindness by lying to her and haggling Maka for candy even in serious situations, despite knowing it was unnecessary. As a result, it is rare Crona and Ragnarok to ever cooperate with each other, but they have been known to do so in desperate times or in fights against other Meisters.

- Crona's gender is left unknown in both the Soul Eater manga and anime, and thus they use they/them pronouns.
- Crona's episode in Death Battle was, funnily enough, the second time a Marvel symbiote lost to a pink-haired anime character, the first one being Carnage VS Lucy.
