- In one famous storyline, Octavius' mind found itself in the body of the recently deceased Peter Parker. Intent on redeeming himself, Otto set out as the "Superior Spider-Man". While physically Peter himself, this version of the wallcrawler retained Doc Oc's savagery, technical expertise, and massive ego; the two incarnations even fought one another. As such, "Superior Spider-Man" is considered part of Doctor Octopus' character, and not Spider-Man's.
