History[]
Ken Masters was a very rich child, his father being the owner of a rich hotel tycoon. Afraid that his son might grow up to become a spoiled brat, Ken was sent to train in Japan at the age of 12 with his father’s best friend. This person was the mysterious master of martial arts Gouken. He trained with Gouken’s adoptive son, Ryu, and became his best friend and principal rival. After 11 years, when Ken turned 23, he and Ryu were deemed to have grown up to be fine fighters by Gouken. Thus, Gouken said that their training was over, and they were allowed to go back home. He was happy that he could go home, and that he learned the true meaning of humility. When he came home, Ken competed in multiple Martial Arts tournaments held in America, winning nearly all of them. He also met a woman named Eliza, who would become his wife.
Personality[]
Due to living in a very rich household, Ken’s father sent him to train in Japan with Gouken, so he wouldn’t grow to become a spoiled brat. While Ryu fights to become a great warrior out of a sense of pride, Ken merely fights for the sole purpose of bragging rights. He trains for a desire for fun, as opposed to self-improvement. He takes his training very seriously, but despite that, he never does it at the cost of fun. While he is fairly egotistical and arrogant at times, he is also a generally kind and good person, believing in honor and discipline, and caring immensely for his family.
