Predators are the titular killers from the same-name movie series. Also known as Yautja, they are a race of alien warriors that glorify hunting and ritualistic combat. One fought Prophet from Crysis in the season one finale of DBX, and another fought Boba Fett in an episode of Death Battle.

There are multiple individuals and classes within the species (ex. The Jungle Hunter from Predator and the City Hunter from Predator 2). Unless a specific individual earns enough fights to be warranted their own character page, this article will consider a "composite" predator.

History[]

The Yautja are a species of bipedal alien hunters that originate from the world of Yautja Prime. Possessing both incredibly advanced technology and a primeval desire to hunt, the species travels the stars to find targets to stalk. This may entail a safari-like expedition where they challenge prey in their own worlds, or instances where they kidnap other species to bring to their own hunting grounds. This nature has given them the unofficial name Predators.

A young Predator is known as "un-blooded", and "young-blooded" as they progress through their training. After completing a ritualistic kill against a tough species, a Predator may mark themselves as "Blooded", the most iconic and combat-ready Predators. Even beyond this, however, elite variants exist, which possess much more power and fighting ability.

There have been several instances of Earth humans providing a match for the Predators, and the two species have a long bloody history. Earth has even been used as a source for Predators to breed the ferocious Xenomorph aliens, whereupon the Yautja will hunt them down in a rite of passage.

Notable Predators include the Jungle Hunter in Guatemala, the City Hunter of New Jersey, Scar from Antarctica, Dark of BG-368, and the Fugitive Predator of the Eastern U.S.

Personality[]

Most Predators take these challenges very seriously as tests of their own strength. As such, they will not attack targets they perceive to be weak or unarmed. However, against worthy foes, they become a force of reckoning, and they are not limited to direct physical confrontation. Predators may set up elaborate traps, use tools, and even employ trickery in order to achieve their goals. They also possess the patience required to hunt for long periods of time before striking, though they can fly into berserker rages in the heat of battle. Their strategies, and what is and isn't considered an "honorable kill", draws parallels to real-life human hunters. If successful, a Predator will take the skull of its victim as a personal trophy, as well as display any battle wounds it received. If unsuccessful, they may resort to suicide via detonation, such as to avoid living with dishonor.

Dutch, a human commando, successfully goaded a Predator into a personal confrontation by challenging it with a war cry, indicating that the Yautja will not back down from a threat. In addition, Yautja are known to work in teams, and will work to avenge fallen comrades.

There are individuals who go against the Yautja code of honour known as Bad Bloods; these Predators hunt for bloodlust rather than sport, making them dangerously savage.
