History[]

Rachel Roth was born as the daughter of the demon lord Trigon and of Angela Roth, a woman who had been manipulated by the former to summon him onto Earth. Realizing she was pregnant with his child, Angela fled to the pacifist dimension of Azarath, where she would later give birth to her daughter.

The Azarathians were terrified of Rachel, and understandably so-- for if she lost control of herself for even one moment, Trigon would be released into the world and bring forth unimaginable chaos. Rachel would then be taught to restrain her emotions in order to suppress the influence of her father. Things went smoothly and Rachel went on to live a (somewhat) normal life...

...until she turned eighteen, where Rachel's Soul-Self was unleashed for the first time, resulting in the death of her mother and the return of Trigon.

Raven was understandably devastated by the death of her mother, and she took a vow to stop her father at any and all costs. Rachel would later flee to Earth, taking on a new identity as the super-heroine Raven. She would later become a founding member of the Teen Titans, which would act as a sort of foster-family for herself. Although she fears the day her father would return for good, she can find solace in the fact that her friends will always be on her side, no matter what happens next.

Personality[]

Raven is quiet, reserved and solitary. Having been trained to suppress her emotions from birth, Raven is typically emotionless and anti-social, preferring to meditate in silence rather than interacting with other people. When she does interact with others, she constantly upholds a serious, brooding demeanor and a sarcastic attitude, only speaking whenever she feels like dishing out snarky quips to her fellow teammates. Because of her cold behavior, she is usually regarded as 'creepy' by those around her, even by her fellow Titans.

Buried beneath her emotionless facade and self-loathing, however, lies an endless cascade of intense emotions which flow constantly through her body. Although usually aloof, Raven has opened up to people on a few occasions and has grown more trustworthy of her teammates. Raven is, at her core and essence, a fragile girl who is deathly-terrified of losing everyone around her at the hands of her father.
